My Year of the Tiger | Dorota Wozniczka
When I joined (Social) Tigers in 2020, I didn't even expect how quickly, everything would change. I remember perfectly how I first arrived in Warsaw's Sadyba district, in an office converted from an apartment building! The company numbered perhaps 10 people? Today Tigers is a 29th floor in the center of Warsaw and more than 60 people! Shock and disbelief? Not necessarily - for me it's courage and the pursuit of a previously set goal. And after all, this is just the beginning!
But back to 2022...
1 - Promotion! In this 2022 I became Senior Team Leader in the organizational structure.
It's also 1 recorded course for Tiger House and 1 (first!) pro bono action in Tigers!
2- Successors. At the beginning of the year, when the team began to grow rapidly, for the first time I had to decide who would be responsible for some of the specialists. Igor Bielecki excelled in his new role and today, he works perfectly as an independent Team Leader. Now, another person is preparing for this role.
This is also the 2 editions of Tigers United that I co-organized!
11- The number of social media & performance specialists I managed when my team was at its largest.
19 - The speakers I invited to Tigers United 5! It was quite a challenge to gather so many great and substantive speakers in one place, especially during the busy holiday season!
40 - Conducted recruitment interviews with potential tigers and... not many successful ones! The recruitment process at Tigers is definitely not a "piece of cake", but that's why we can boast such a strong and cool team!
172 - Hours spent conducting trainings, participating in conferences and various events as a speaker. And sharing knowledge is definitely my favorite thing to do!
349 - Hours in which I was engaged in supporting new business activities. Starting from preparing proposals, to connecting customer success specialists with new business, to creating processes and meeting with potential customers.
Your three biggest accomplishments are.
1/ A very strong substantive, ambitious and close-knit team!
2/ New competencies and expansion of skills - if I had to replace Tigers with a synonym, it would be development! This year I definitely significantly increased my skills as a leader, facing difficult situations, but also as a specialist - learning about new tools and opportunities, such as verdical video.
3/ Training and presentations - this is the part of the job I like the most! There was a lot of it this year, as well as changes in digital, so constantly being "up to date" was quite a challenge.
The biggest challenge and how you dealt with it....
If I looked at 2022 from a broader perspective - the challenges this year were really a lot! A large team, a lot of responsibilities and a lot of tasks that distracted me, not quite allowing me to focus on a particular direction. Jumping between topics that required my attention was not easy, and in retrospect, I know that some issues need to be let go in order to take better care of others. Thanks to the support of Karolina Kawska and Martyna Celuch, I manage to arrange this in my daily work, and I no longer try to catch "all the pigs by the tail".
What developed you...
Working with a team - this is always the biggest lesson in humility for me and an opportunity to learn new skills. Looking at the same challenge from different perspectives, allows you to open yourself to new solutions!
What has changed in your perception of work/social media/digital marketing/sales....
There has been no breakthrough in this regard, but I have reaffirmed my belief that synergy of activities is always the best option. Nothing works to grow a business better than a multi-competent team - from strategy, to content activities, to performance support, to special campaigns. A slice of activities can translate into results, but true scaling begins when you connect all the dots.
Most satisfying moment...
Seriously, should I pick one? There was a lot of it! Starting with promotions in the team (Blazej, Paulina, Igor, Ola & Emil - congratulations again), through hours of training where we took social media apart and created tools to handle it, and ending with the feeling I've had in recent months - that I'm where I'm supposed to be!
Advice to myself from a year ago....
Buckle up, it's going to happen! And don't forget that using the brakes is ok too.
2023 for you is...More changes!
At the beginning of the year I joined the Growth department! This is a natural step on the path of my development within the structures of Tigers. In recent months, I have been focusing on synergizing the activities of operational specialists with the New Business team - the effects of this work are already starting to become visible. In my new role, I'm focusing on introducing processes and streamlining existing activities - all in order to optimize sales results.
In the coming months, I will also be responsible for the development of the Tiger House platform and joint custom activities with the marketing team.
There are new challenges ahead of both me and the entire Growth team, but I am already sharpening my claws for them, and I am confident that together we will achieve the set strategy! And maybe even something more!!! 🙂
